Manager, Public Affairs
Mr. Ahmed Laminu
Mr. Ahmed Laminu is the new Manager, Public Affairs Department of the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), a Corporate Services Unit of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State (2013), Advance Certificate in Transport Studies from the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), Zaria, Kaduna State (1999) and Bachelors of Arts degree in History (B.A. Hons) from the University of Maiduguri (1987).
Mr. Laminu joined the services of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in 1991 and was posted to Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company (KRPC) as a personnel officer responsible for staff matters. By dint of hard work he rose through the ranks to his present position.
In 1999, he was transferred from KRPC to General Admin Services, Corporate Headquarters Abuja as a Supervisor in charge of stores. He held this supervisory position for eight years and having proven himself a very resourceful and diligent staff was in 2006 charged to cover the duties of the office of the Deputy Manager, Headquarters purchasing services.
In 2010, he became a substantive Deputy Manager superintending over Staff welfare, Staff club, NNPC Sports and Schools’ Services.
A very amiable but astute fellow, he was able to evolve a process that improved staff welfare and stemmed duplicity in the system thereby saving huge fund for the corporation.
It was from there he was promoted to the position of a manager and later transferred to Lagos as Manager, Public Affairs, NAPIMS.
Mr. Laminu is a member of the following Professional institutions: Chartered Institute of Transport and the Nigerian Institute of Management.
He enjoys Travelling, Jogging as hobby and is happily married with children.
